After graduating with a degree in Biology from Vassar College, Dr. Ariel Shuckett earned her Masters of Public Health from UCLA. After working in the field of Public Health for a few years, she then obtained her Masters of Medical Science degree from Boston University School of Medicine where she went on to obtain her medical degree. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut in 2016. She has a varied background, including having worked in a substance abuse treatment center for pregnant women, participating in multiple research projects, and as a volunteer doula.
“I love Obstetrics and Gynecology for many reasons,” explained Dr. Shuckett. “But mostly because it affords me the privilege of caring for a patient during her entire life. Ob-Gyns are in a unique position to help women through some of the most joyous times, such as helping bring new life into the world, and to also help them through challenging medical conditions.” Her interests include prenatal care, high-risk obstetrics, minimally invasive surgery, contraceptive management and sexual health, and the treatment of fibroids.
Dr. Shuckett grew up in San Diego, and is excited to return and provide patients with exceptional, compassionate care. She enjoys playing with her adorable dog Lucy, spending time at the beach, and visiting aquariums and modern art museums.
