Dr. Kim Goodwin was born in Tampa, FL and grew up both in Florida and near Denver, CO. After high school, she went on to the University of San Francisco, where she graduated with honors, majoring in biology with a minor in psychology, while also competing in the NCAA Division I volleyball program for four years.
She went on to her medical school training at the Dartmouth/Brown joint program, ultimately receiving her medical degree from Brown University in Rhode Island. Dr. Goodwin continued on at Brown University for her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Goodwin moved to San Diego after completing residency in 2001 and was one of the founding partners of West Coast OB/GYN in 2002. She has received multiple “Top Doc” awards from the San Diego Magazine Top Docs issue, which is voted on by her peers. She is dedicated to providing cutting edge care with a warm, empathetic touch.
Her husband is a firefighter and in the Navy Reserves. In her spare time, Dr. Goodwin enjoys both indoor and outdoor volleyball, knitting and being a mom.
