West Coast Medical Research is actively involved in moving the bar forward for treating diseases that affect women. Our goal is not only to provide opportunity for our patients to have access to latest treatments and procedures, but also to contribute to the overall knowledge base of medical care of women in all stages of life. This means West Coast OB/GYN patients have an opportunity to be involved in cutting-edge research which will not only benefit all women, but also themselves. Often these opportunities include care that isn’t otherwise available for patients. We have been involved in research about women’s healthcare that has ultimately turned out to be standard of care. We have been involved in landmark studies, including a study on prenatal genetic testing published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Other subjects we have studied have included cervical cancer and STD screening, endometriosis, fibroids, preeclampsia in pregnancy, and surgical instructions.
